About Our Program
It started 17 years ago with one class, one small group, and one big belief: Dance is for EVERY BODY! Free 2 Be Me Dance began as a ballet class for children with Down syndrome. Today, we’re a 501(c)(3) nonprofit offering inclusive, adaptive dance classes—ballet, hip hop, and more—for dancers of all ages and abilities.
We meet every student where they are. We celebrate every step. And we never turn anyone away because of their ability or ability to pay.
This isn’t just a dance class— It’s a place to belong, to grow, and to shine.
Every step tells a story. Every dancer belongs.
Free 2 Be Me Dance is a place where movement meets meaning—where dancers of all ages and abilities are welcomed, supported, and celebrated just as they are.
Founded in 2008 with a single ballet class for children with Down syndrome, our program has grown into a 501(c)(3) nonprofit offering inclusive classes in ballet, hip hop, tap, ballroom, and strength & mobility. What hasn’t changed is our belief in what dance can do.
Movement is essential.
For many of our dancers, this class is their only consistent opportunity for physical activity. That matters. Because movement supports everything from heart health and weight management to emotional regulation and mental well-being especially for students whose medications or diagnoses may present extra challenges.
Dance that empowers.
In our program, dance is more than just technique. It’s confidence in motion. It’s friendship, expression, and connection.
It’s a way for our students to build life skills, celebrate who they are, and feel the joy of being part of something bigger.
