Dancing Through Buddy Walk 2024 – A Celebration of Joy and Inclusion!
We had a truly unforgettable day at this year’s Buddy Walk, hosted by the Down Syndrome Association of Los Angeles!
Our dancers lit up the event with their passion, joy, and endless smiles, coming together with families, friends, and the community to honor and celebrate individuals with Down syndrome from all of LA County.
Ranging in age from 7 to 39, Free 2 Be Me Dance’s performance brought the crowd to life with two energetic hip hop routines that had everyone cheering, clapping, and dancing along. They reminded us all that dance knows no boundaries and that everyone, no matter their ability, deserves a chance to shine.
Buddy Walk was more than just a performance - it was a day filled with laughter, unity, and a beautiful sense of community.
It gave us the perfect opportunity to live our mission: To bring the joy of dance to people of all abilities. Because we believe dance is for EVERYBODY!
Seeing our dancers celebrated for who they are was incredibly meaningful and a testament to this vision. We can’t wait to return next year and create even more wonderful memories together.

At the beginning of this semester our volunteer Sophie Ma, a high school senior at Crossroads School, contacted our team offering to volunteer her graphic design skills. Sophie designed our new logo, and we are so excited to finally share it! A huge thanks to Sophie and her generosity to our program!
